JOINT INJECTIONS

A number of our Doctors can administer joint injections,  if you feel this is something that may be beneficial to you, please arrange a Doctors appointment to discuss this further.

CONTRACEPTION SERVICES

We provide various methods of contraception including fitting of implants, coils, prescribing medication and administering depo injections.  Arrange a Doctors appointment to discuss what contraception method may be right for you.

HYPERTENSION CLINIC

Untreated high blood pressure can increase the risk of heart attacks and strokes. Any doctor or nurse can check your blood pressure and if high arrange blood and urine tests and an ECG.

INFLUENZA INJECTIONS

Each Autumn/Winter we run flu clinics. Anyone over 65, or suffering from a chronic disease at any age is at an increased risk from flu and should be vaccinated. Look out for the adverts when flu vaccines arrive.

MINOR SURGERY

We can remove small lumps and bumps. Make an appointment to see a doctor to discuss this.

NEW PATIENT CHECK

If you are registering as a new patient you can book an appointment with the Health Care Assistant for a new patient check, she will check your height, weight and blood pressure, ask about medical conditions and arrange any necessary blood tests. You need to bring a urine sample.

PRIVATE MEDICALS

Private medical examinations for insurance purposes, need to be arranged by appointment. A fee will be charged as these do not come under NHS terms of service. Private forms can also be completed and signed and a fee will be charged.

SMOKING CESSATION SERVICE

Our practise nurses are able to advise you on how to give up smoking, encourage and monitor you and also discuss and prescribe medical treatments to help. Ask at reception for an appointment.

CERVICAL SCREENING

All women aged 25-64 are invited for cervical screening. By having regular smears any changes that may occur in the cervix may be picked up early before they become cancerous. Our practice nurses carry out the smear tests.

CARDIOVASCULAR CLINIC

We have clinics for people who have experienced heart disease or stroke where you will regularly have your blood pressure and cholesterol checked, your medication reviewed and will be advised on lifestyle changes to help you try to prevent further illness.

DIABETIC CLINIC

This clinic aims to prevent complications of diabetes by regular monitoring of diabetic control, together with lifestyle advice. The clinic is run by the practice nurse however, patients also have annual eye and foot checks and may see the dietician for dietary advice where necessary.
